the skies were hesitant

the skies were hesitant
the clouds were patient
in the ensuing mist and humid air
there was a tinge of expectation
as if the earth
had found the right moment
to release the special fragrance
when the first drops of rain will embrace
it with abandon

    Or pining Zephyr
    Coaxed first and then ushered
    The pliant vehicle;
    While faltering awhile
    Floated up the dust
    Reeling with aroma
    Of embraced earth.

    returned from dried pastures
    the sun was about to set
    but rose the dust in its gay abandon
    as if to celebrate the sounds
    of ringing bells
    and impending meeting
    of a pastoralist
    with his waiting love full of sorrow
    who knows whether or what
    the flute will tell
    tomorrow,
