the skies were hesitant
the clouds were patient
in the ensuing mist and humid air
there was a tinge of expectation
as if the earth
had found the right moment
to release the special fragrance
when the first drops of rain will embrace
it with abandon
Alas! The flurry in the air
Or pining Zephyr
Coaxed first and then ushered
The pliant vehicle;
While faltering awhile
Floated up the dust
Reeling with aroma
Of embraced earth.
when the mute friends
returned from dried pastures
the sun was about to set
but rose the dust in its gay abandon
as if to celebrate the sounds
of ringing bells
and impending meeting
of a pastoralist
with his waiting love full of sorrow
who knows whether or what
the flute will tell
tomorrow,
