while going to the temple every day
i would now and then trip
over the steps
rains had let the moss grow
and since not many people came this way,
it was quite slippery
i wondered if it was a reminder of the respect
dueto the deity
in the temple
that i need to wash the steps
but then she does not accept
the offering too easily,
will she ask,
why should i wash the steps again and again
is it to let more devotees come,
or let those who come not trip
or just to make me feel happy,
