dissenting cloud

Whenever I see
Some cloud dissenting
And taking off on her own
I realise it must have
Been nurtured by the tears
Of a lost soul
A betrayed faith
An abandoned ant mound

lovelorn, earth and a haughty cloud

Today
The clouds were not too keen
To descend
Earth, like a lovelorn, was wondering
Did cloud feel bad
On her being, a bit sarcastic yesterday
But clouds were busy in conversation
With the sky
What happened
O clouds
You are still around
Don’t ask why,
O sky
Have you embraced us enough
To take our heat
And make us dry
Cold
And wanting to soak
In the warmth of the earth
Sky
Kept quiet
There was a lightening
Rain followed
Everywhere cold air
Took over
The warmth in the heart of devotees
Kindled the desire
Of clouds to wrap around them
That is also way of your blessing
O lord

with twinkle in her eyes

‘Having oozed all heat to sky
I had to come down’
Said the cloud
Seeking the warmth from the earth,
‘So You will take the warmth
And then go away’
Said earth
With a twinkle in her eyes,
Clouds had already started
Moving up
Having warmed the monastery
And all the devotees
At your altar
Lord

it just wanders

dont ask the clouds
where they are destined to go
as if they know
but dont be surprised
if they stay here
for longer than you expect
which peaks entice them
why
who knows
but breeze is not obliged
to either, the peaks
or the valleys
it just wanders
here, there and somewhere
does it know
need it know?

aur baaki sab kuchh ankaha hi rehney do

seemaon mein bandh kar hi to nadiya behti hai
jheel kab kisee ke dwar par thaharti hai
man na nadiya ka ho saka
na jheel ki bhanwar mein hi yeh bandha
le lo jitna ashreya is ped ki chhaya mein mil jaye
jaaney kab ghun ko iski jadon ka swad fal jayey

meri koi jyaada arzoo nahin
kisee pal ki koi yaad waris nahin

khoob udo, unchey aasmaan mein
tairo gehrey samudra mein

meri bahon ke mastool shayad fat se gaye hain
samudra ki leheron mein kuchh khwab
atak se gaye hain
kati patang ki tarah, inko atkey rehney do
palko ki jaban se thodey geet behney do
aur baaki sab kuchh ankaha hi rehney do

Gardens beyond

Butterfly threatened the sunflower
If it didn’t stop complaining
It will pollinate another garden
But she knew
His complaints
Were the outcome
Of all the colours
He had gathered through her sojourns
To gardens beyond

but no body will deny

despair
not
hope belied
but the truth lasts
when white hairs will
not hide signatures of time
the eyes will get dimmed
light will still last

i will die
and so will all those scars which
i earned for being a fellow walker
on a thorny road

but no body wil deny
the agony of sky
which will not
let clouds rain
over the promised land, but dry
