For many days
You have been asking
If I have time time
To sit with you
To take a cup of tea
And I remain occupied with my chores
I love to be lazy
Really
But then so many souls
Expect me to strive
And their expectation
Often drive
Me
Crazy
I want to be lazy

Don’t argue
With gardener
He will give you leaves
Of all the pain killers
He planted years ago
To absorb the pain of all suffering
Souls but don’t expect him
Anymore
To allow the little rivulet
Flowing through the garden
To be dammed for filling
The pond for you to swim

You still have to
Understand
Gardner is obliged
To nurse
The wounded sparrows
Even if it means
Letting some flowers dry
Or your pond not getting filled

He is not free to let his
Personal preferences
Prevail
Over the needs of sprouts
Of sustainable serenity
All around

Swollen river
Flood is furious
But can’t let waves takeover
Desert of desires,

How else will river flow
If banks betray
The promise of persistence

Living is possible
Only when survival becomes
Impossible
Why do we then just survive

Twilight zone
Faith betrayed
Why complain
Just survive

Fragmented garden
How do I permit
Sowing of nursery
Play with flowers
Already in bloom

when the morning dew
soaks your feet
you feel the coldness of the air more
not much can be done
the bricks that we made
together were baked in a cold hearth
they are not strong enough
so, we have to dig a new clay pit
find a better mould
and new source of firewood
may be we do some time
when you have walked away in search of bricks
morning dew
will still be cold
but not so cold

Wish the road was paved earlier
You could have run faster
Don’t blame the rain
For washing away
Done of the patchwork
You had done
Halfheartedly
Dont blame the lamppost either
It was just a witness
To your walk
Away
From the worksite
When you were needed here
Light will still fall on your path
Lamp post will stay still
Stay on course

Thodi isi muskan Udhar li
Thodi swapno ki udaan li
Aur phir Tumney pooch Liya
Kyun main itna khush ho Gaya
Kaisey kehta ki jo Baaki tha jo kaafi Samay se
Wo ek Ashwasan saabhar Liya
Tumney Chhoo Liya mera man
Aur main tumhari Khushboo se sarobar hua

I know
We have sealed the window
It wasnot easy to clean it every day
Without that
Whatever we saw always seemed so distorted
Now that it is closed
Has the vision become clearer
We should ask the
Carpenter
Who lives below
And ask him
If he will fix a few more nails
So that it doesn’t open again
No matter who wishes it to be
So
Some windows should remain closed

a layer of algae
placid lake
ripples still rise
but they don’t cross the brim
of the cup
in which i make coffee
the breathing space
holding on to sounds
of cracking cups
doesnt help
so
let the coffee spill over
let the cups don’t crack
but lake will still embrace
the breeze
and you can not help it
