\nTill it grew enough to bear more seeds
\nEvery time
\nHopes are sown
\nThe dust gathers imprints
\nOf decay and despair
\nOf the envelops in which
\nMoist eyes of a tall tree
\nWraps memories
\nOf its promises of nurturing
\nAll its seeds with the same love
\nEven if some never germinated
\nNow you declare release
\nOf course you must grow beyond
\nThe confines of coats of seeds
\nShawls of serenity
\nThat can only give warmth when tied closely
\nBut release you must have
\nElse elephants will not cross
\nThrough the narrow corridor
\nThat’s left in the denuded forest
\nTo escape from the
\nFire
\nThat has been raging
\nEver since you sought release
\nFrom the confines of confidence
\nThat dreams mattered
\nLong term dreams of making a difference
\nMattered
\nBut they still mean a lot to me
\nAnd will always do
\nSO what if few wrinkles
\nAdorn the scarf
\nThat I had offered to maa kaali
\nWho has for some time
\nNot spoken to me
\nBut dares me
\nAll the time
\nTo renounce and release
\nAll the desires
\nAnd bonds of expectations
\nI had somehow begun to have
\nFrom myself
\nBut no more
\nNo more
\nAll the smoke
\nOf unburnt desires
\nWill vanish
\nTears from our eyes will wash
\nAll stains of smog
\nThat covered our eyes
